100% European Control Attracts New Members to Leading Cloud Association

Brussels, 11th June 2025. The association of Cloud Infrastructure Service Providers in Europe (CISPE) is proud to announce two new members offering exclusively European sovereign and strategically autonomous cloud services. Both Numspot (France) and Infomaniak (Switzerland) have developed thriving cloud infrastructure businesses that offer customers sovereign cloud alternatives. At a time when concern over the dominance, availability and reliance on a small number of overseas technology providers is increasing, companies like Numspot and Infomaniak illustrate the strength of alternative European options available to cloud customers. CISPE is excited to welcome them to the association.

CISPE’s new governance ensures that all decisions are taken by a board that contains only European cloud infrastructure providers. The overall membership of the association must also be at least 75% European. Although overseas hyperscalers are welcome as observers, they do not possess voting rights. As such, CISPE is one of the only technology associations completely controlled by European companies and is seeing significant interest from prospective new members as a result.

NumSpot is a sovereign cloud player based in France. It was founded by four leading French public and private sector companies, the Banque des Territoires, Docaposte, Dassault Systèmes and Bouygues Télécom. NumSpot offers an independent, sovereign and robust cloud backed by OUTSCALE’s SecNumCloud-qualified Infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) and is significantly based on open-source solutions. Targeting sectors facing high data sensitivity (public sector, healthcare, financial services and insurance, OVI (operators of vital importance) IE (Important Entity) and EE (Essential Entity)) in France and Europe, Numspot provides a European sovereign and trusted cloud choice in line with GDPR and European regulations.

“We are firm believers in offering choice to European cloud customers. Numspot services provide a secure, sovereign alternative for those that want security, sovereignty and confidence for their data and cloud,” said Eric Haddad, CEO of NumSpot. CISPE’s track record and its European credentials are the perfect fit for Numspot.”

With nearly 300 employees and 30 years of IT leadership, Infomaniak is dedicated to developing technological independence in Europe without compromising on ecology, privacy or people. It provides its customers with sovereign cloud services that respect data privacy with customer data stored in full compliance with GDPR in Swiss data centres. It develops its own software in-house or uses open-source software and is committed to environmental sustainability with climate neutral data centre operations that are cooled without air-conditioning or water, and which reuse excess heat to warm local households. The company is also investing in local talent and economies, offering training to build essential digital skills and prioritising local suppliers, partners and recruitment wherever possible.

“Infomaniak joins CISPE with the ambition to contribute to European digital sovereignty, promote fair competition in the European market, and raise data centre standards in terms of efficiency and energy recovery, said Marc Oehler, CEO, Infomaniak.

Commenting on these new members, secretary general Francisco Mingorance, said: “Numspot and Infomaniak are two examples of the exciting innovative European cloud providers that we have always celebrated. Our new 100% European governance is proving attractive, and we are seeing many more enquiries from similar businesses keen to campaign for European alternatives and choice for European cloud customers.”
